The Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has reaffirmed its commitment to members’ welfare, professionalism and institutional development as it marked one year in office.
The Chairman of the chapel, Alhaji Murtala Adewale, gave the assurance on Monday during the chapel’s first anniversary and stewardship presentation at the NUJ Press Centre in Kano.
Adewale attributed the achievements recorded by the executive in the past 12 months to teamwork, dedication and the support of members.
He said the administration would continue to prioritise members’ welfare, capacity building and initiatives that would strengthen the chapel.
”Our responsibility is to remain united and work together in promoting ethical journalism and building greater synergy among media professionals for the progress of the profession and the prosperity of our country,” he said.
The chairman said the executive established a cooperative society with an initial capital base of N10 million and facilitated N8.5 million in loan facilities for members.
He added that the administration also provided N2 million medical support
